Revamped Black Horse pub

From Stroud News:

Two Stroud pubs have been completely transformed by new Five Valleys design duo, Crittall + Hill Interior Design.

The firm was founded by friends and designers Alice Crittall and Rebecca Hill, who share a love of interiors.

“We are passionate about promoting local craftsmen and suppliers while also trying to challenge the notion of ‘country interiors’,” said Rebecca.

The pair have recently completed two popular local pubs: The Black Horse in Amberley; and The Britannia in Nailsworth.

“Both pubs have been stalwarts of the local communities, but were in need of some serious TLC,” said Alice.

“Our primary aim was to honour the much-loved atmosphere of the local pub, which has been dearly missed during the pandemic.

“By working with the natural materials found in the fabric of the building, we added layers of tone and colour to compliment the spaces to create a harmonious balance of old and new."

Stroud Farmers' Market

We have just had a wonderful weekend in the cottage which began in typical style with a visit to Stroud farmers' market. We bought far too much (bread, cheese, salami, wine, cheesecake!) but enjoyed every bit of it. As winter approaches, the hot food and glorious pies look ever more attractive.
